2024 Nissan GT-R Facelift, T-Spec & Nismo Revealed

Nissan has unveiled the 2024 GT-R at the Tokyo Auto Salon, revealing a fresh front bumper alongside revised hot Nismo and T-Spec variants. Skyline GT-R Millennium Jade and Midnight Purple colors also make a return.

Before you get all hot under the collar looking at the new 2024 Nissan GT-R, it’s worth pointing out that it won’t be sold in the UK. Nope. Back in March 2022, Nissan removed the GT-R from sale in Europe due to strict new noise regulations. It goes on sale in Japan and in the US in Spring of this year, though, before Nismo variants arrive later in the summer.

What’s new about the 2024 Nissan GT-R?

There are two new trim-levels joining the standard 2024 Nissan GT-R; the T-Spec and the Nismo. The T-Spec sits between the standard model and the most potent and second addition to the 2023 line-up, the Nismo.

Fundamentally, what makes the Nissan GT-R so good is still there. For 2024, all GT-R cars utilize the VR38DETT – 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 – and produce 562bhp and 469lb ft in standard and T-Spec form. The Nismo cars, meanwhile, have 591bhp and 481lb ft of torque up their sleeve. Power is of course sent to all wheels via Nissan’s ATTESA ET-S and a six-speed dual-clutch auto.

Visually, the first thing you’ll spot is the new front bumper. The upper grille is thinner than before, while the bottom section is more boxy; it gives a hint of Skyline GT-R influence. There are also new hexagon daytime running lights that helps modernize the GT-R’s look.

2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec features

As mentioned earlier, the Nissan GT-R T-Spec sits between the standard GT-R and all-out Nismo. As a result, it gets the same power as the standard model, but receives carbon-ceramic brakes, wider front fenders, and the Nismo’s stability control.

Nissan Skyline GT-R fans will have immediately noticed the Millennium Jade color on the press shots from the unveiling, as it makes a return to a GT-R in T-Spec form. It’s not the only nostalgic color making a return, in comes Midnight Purple, too. Both are exclusive paint options.

New Nissan GT-R Nismo features

The Nismo cars all benefit from new weight-balanced engine parts, including the crankshaft, piston rings and connecting rods.

Nissan has drawn in lessons learned from Motorsport and introduced them to the new Nissan GT-R Nismo. More specifically, that rear wing takes inspiration from the GT500 race cars; alongside the additional carbon fibre at the back, it now produces 13% more downforce at the rear.

The Nismo features a revise aerodynamic package too; carbon fibre intakes, a carbon fibre bonnet and more efficient wheel arches come in. A new splitter and canards also join the line-up. The track-ready Nismo benefits from the turbochargers from a Nissan GT3 race car, too, alongside a limited-slip differential in-between the front wheels for the first time.

2024 Nissan GT-R Pricing

The new entry-level GT-R, confusingly referred to as the ‘Premium’ model, starts at $120,990 – or $122,885 after destination charges. Taking those extra fees into account, you can source the mid-range T-Spec model for $142,885, while the hardcore Nismo variant is set to cost an eye-watering $222,885.
